Evaluation of the Physical and Mental Health Status of Nursing Students by using CMI


Abstract
A survey was conducted in order to find out health status of nursing student. The data was gathered by author from April to May, 1978 towards 340 undergraduate nursing students of Kyung Ki Nursing College on their physical and mental health, using the C.M.I.
The results were as follows
1. Average physical and mental complaints numbered 20.2, 13.0 each. Average of total complaints numbered 33.4
2. Number of complaints through all sections increased from 27.5 of 17 years of age to 40.5 of 22 years of age according to age.
3. Number of physical complaints by section averaged 3.1 with Section D (Digestive Tract) or the highest, followed by Section A and Section B. Number of mental complaints by section was topped by Section M (Inadequacy) or 4.2, followed by Section Q
4. Nursing students with no complaints throughout all sections rated 34.3%.
5. Nursing students with complaints numbering over 40 rated 32.9% through all sections 6. Emotional disturbances by discriminative chart of Fukamachi rated 37.6% and numbered 128.
